One of my New Year’s resolutions was to grow my own food in my backyard. You may save money and lessen your carbon footprint by growing your own food. It seemed like a no-brainer to me!
Unfortunately, gardening is more difficult than I anticipated. This year, my garden was a complete failure. This is a list of five of my most spectacular gardening mishaps, so hopefully, you can avoid them!
1. Not weeding the garden
My very first big gardening blunder was completely ignoring my yard and plantings for a whole season. I got off to a good start… Before I planted, my partner and I tilled the ground three times and pulled all the weeds. However, I only ever weeded my garden once.
I can’t even open the gate since the garden is overrun with weeds. The weeds tower over me, making the chore of weeding seem hopeless. To avoid this blunder, be sure to get rid of weeds as soon as they sprout. To remove weeds that are smaller than you is a much easier task than to remove weeds that are larger than you.
