One of the worst things that can happen with so many of us using smartphones is accidentally dropping your phone into water. If we drop it in a sink, a washing machine, or get it wet in the rain, there’s a good chance it won’t start again. Such unforeseeable circumstances cannot be avoided, and many things can go wrong. It can cause internal phone damage, display and touchscreen failure, or even worse.
There are some things you can do right away to prevent this from happening to ensure minimal damage. Let’s take a look at some options for saving your wet smartphone.
After turning off the smartphone, remove any cases, covers, SIM card, memory card, and stylus, if applicable. While only a few phones today have removable batteries, if yours does, remove it immediately. Once all of these items have been removed, take a tissue paper and wipe away any remaining moisture and water, including the battery compartment, screen, connectivity ports, and so on.
